Description

Therapeutic ultrasound generally refers to any type of ultrasonic procedure that uses ultrasound for therapeutic benefit. Ultrasound is applied using a transducer or applicator that is in direct contact with the patient’s skin. A gel is used on the surface of the head to reduce friction and assist transmission of the ultrasonic waves.
It’s indicated for the treatment of diseases such as:

  • Trigger points.
  • Adhesive capsulitis.
  • Tendinopathies.
  • Ligament sprains.
  • Bursitis.
